Gundam G no Reconguista
In year 1014 of the Regild Century, following the Universal Century, a young member of the Capital Guard named Bellri Zenam (ベルリ・ゼナム?), charged with protecting the orbital elevator Capital Tower,[1] encounters and helps capture a highly-advanced mobile suit, the G-Self and its pilot, Aida Surugan (アイーダ・スルガン?), while defending the tower from space pirates called the Pirate Corps. Feeling a connection with both the G-Self and its pilot, Bellri is able to control the mobile suit, operable only by a select few; subsequently becoming involved in a plot with consequence for the Regild Century.
Watched the first episodes and the Art and Animation styles are nostalgic. They remind me of the 80's Gundam series. It's no surprise though, since Yoshiyuki Tomino is at the helm of this project.

Yup. Reconquista really is typical Tomino. We have an early character death, and the pacing of the vocal lines of characters are faster pace than current standards. Art and colors reminds me of Suisei no Gargantia, both much brighter and fantastical. I'm a bit disappointed with the mobile suit designs though, especially those Rectus(?) grunts with the bizzare stop light faces.

Rektens, and yeah, Their visors look like Simon Says. I like the Catsiths though. The Grimoire seems like a homage to VOTOMS' Scopedogs.
I really am curious about the whole underlying themes here.

- Spoiler:
- Since according to side materials, UC ended with yet another war, that pushed humanity to the brink, resorting to Cannibalism, which is why the term 'Kuntala' is thrown around.

Re: Gundam G no Reconguista
I do say this is the most dandy and fabulous Gundam series I've ever watched probably because of the Eureka 7 style of everything in it. I've heard there's haters of GRecon (same as AGE, to my surprise). I think I know why UC people would come to hate this. When I saw the designs of the suits I hated it too, but when I watched it, suddenly all the hate gone :V

This got me thinking about the show. It ties up with the India-like setting for the show, complete with a possible caste system for its inhabitants.
Other than that, I guess I'm still having a problem with Tomino's style of script pacing. The dialogues feels too fast with the discussions feeling abrupt and lacking because of it. Maybe I need to rewatch an old Tomino series to get into the groove again.
